Jokes of Mass Destruction May Overtake D.C. Dinner

Filed under: Politics — Funny Stuff via Funny Cats @ 8:56 pm

WASHINGTON, D.C. (HBN) – President Bush looks to take another stab at humor at tonight’s D.C. Dinner. In related news, the capital has been put on High Alert for possible Jokes of Mass Destruction.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is the largest of four black-tie events that take place during the Washington, D.C.’s annual “season of comedy”. Tonight about 2,000 reporters and various celebrity guests are being put on Heightened Alert to see whether President Bush will dare to be comedic when world events are currently very far from funny.

During his last time out, at the annual Radio and Television Correspondents’ Dinner, Bush joked about the failure to find Weapons of Mass Destruction. Although those that attended the Dinner politely laughed, there is no doubt that they couldn’t help but wonder, “What is this guy thinking?”

George W. Bush’s attempt at humor better be both more appropriate and more humorous - for his sake and for mine. I yawn at a lot of things - hell, I’m a cat. I want something genuinely funny. This Washington ritual demands that the President do his best impression of Jay Leno. However, Bush is liable to get himself into a whole world of trouble if he keeps up what can appropriately be called “Jokes of Mass Destruction”.

Not only is it a horrible move politically to make bad jokes about STARTING A WAR UNDER FALSE PRETENSES, but it is just plain idiotic. Next thing you know, President George W. will be cracking a joke about those pictures that just came out of prisoners being abused by American troops. Haha … ummm … hilarious?

*BOOM*

Look out! Jokes of Mass Destruction!
