MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (HBN) — In an effort to thwart rouge sales of Gmail account invites being sold for Buku bucks on eBay, Google recently spammed current Beta testers of the E-mail service with plenty of invites to give away.
Recently, the account invites to Gmail, Google’s highly anticipated “free” Email service had been selling for between $50 and $150 dollars.
When Google caught wind of this, they immediately pulled the plug by effectively spamming all current users of their email service with a lot of invites. This brought the supply up and the Ebay prices down.
Now you can easily fetch a “free” Gmail account on eBay for under $5 dollars.
Gmail is a revolutionary E-mail service because it offers 1 Gigabyte of storage (a lot of space) to its users for free.

how’d you get wind of google increasing its user base as a reaction of people selling accounts on eBay? Was there a news story making the correlation between the two?
gmail accounts have been selling on ebay for a while.
