A Girl Called Rosemarie (DVD)

Nina Hoss stars in this period drama as Rosemarie, an ambitious and beautiful young woman who dreams of sloughing off her working class background to become part of Germany's post WWII social elite. Rosemarie gets her first taste of high living as a prostitute, gradually accumulating a clientele that includes many of Germany's most elite businessmen and politicians. Soon, she is helping an unscrupulous businessman blackmail some of her clients, adding to her riches while further insuring that she will never be able to marry an aristocrat and genuinely belong to the social elite.
