Shifting Calder Wind

In this entry in Dailey's popular Calder series (which began in 1981 with THIS CALDER SKY), family patriarch Chase Calder is presumed dead by his family when he is shot while on a business trip in Texas. Chase, however, is not dead but merely suffering from amnesia. Luckily, Chase has been taken in by cowboy Laredo Smith and his kindly mother, Hattie, who, when they discover Chase's true identity, bring him back to the Calder ranch in Montana. Laredo soon finds himself drawn to Chase's widowed daughter-in-law, Jessy, as they work together to help Chase regain his memory--and to discover who attempted to murder him in Texas.
